Lyric Symphony, inspired and written in the manner of the French organ symphonies, consists of six movements which are suitable for worship service and solo performance. The movements are short and melodious and vary in length between 2:30 and 5:30 minutes. With the exception of the Scherzetto, each movement may be used during worship service: the Prelude, Andante and Adagio when a softer, more expressive piece is called for as in a prelude, offertory or communion, and the Grand Choeur and Toccata for a postlude for church services, weddings, and solos.
